About Matt Schindler

Matt Schindler was born in and raised in Hagerstown MD. He attended Potomac Heights Elementary, Salem Ave Elementary and Western Heights Middle. He graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 2001, Hagerstown Community College in 2003, and the University of Maryland in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Networks and Cyber Security.
Matt has spent his career in the Technology Field, even spending several years setting up clinical research laboratories for Ebola in West Africa. He is currently the IT Manager for the National Capital Bank of Washington.
Matt was honored to be appointed to the Hagerstown City Council in March of 2023 and also serves on the City Planning Commission. He has previously served on the City Ethics Commission, the CDBG Citizen Committee, and as the President of the Friends of Safe Place of Washington County / Child Advocacy Center and Board of Directors for Federal Little League. He is a currently raising his son, and enjoys coaching various youth sports. Matt is dedicated to sharing his love of the city, through promoting community involvement, tackling vacant and blighted properties, and making sure to be an approachable listener and voice for the citizens of Hagerstown.
In January 2025 Matt was appointed to fill the vacancy in the Maryland House of Delegates - representing District 2B!
